PRIMAL FIT MIAMI is a training facility that teaches progressive, structured, strength and conditioning programs in one on one and small group settings. The word Primal means original or of first importance. PRIMAL FIT MIAMI‘S core training philosophy revolves around the body’s natural Primal Movement Patterns to achieve maximum fitness results without the dependence on lethargic mainstream gimmick driven fitness regimens. PRIMAL FIT MIAMI works with all ages, genders and fitness levels towards one ultimate goal – optimal health and wellness.
Primal Movement Patterns are functional movements found in our everyday lives, from professionals, to athletes and even in recreation. Pushing, pulling, squatting, lunging, bending, twisting and gate (walking, running, sprinting, crawling etc.) make up the 7 Primal Pattern Movements. These movements are exercised to some degree in our daily lives. Primitive times demanded that we performed these patterns to the best of our ability not just for fitness but for the sheer instinct to survive.
An internship at PRIMAL FIT MIAMI gives hands on training in a diverse facility that is passionate about changing lives through nutrition, health, fitness, and human performance. PRIMAL FIT MIAMI’s internship requires dedication, commitment and excellence to help our clients feel fantastic, look incredible, and perform at the top of their game. Day to Day practices include challenging and motivating in an individualized manner while working in small group settings-modifying exercises spontaneously based on exercise level, health history, limitations and overall goals. PRIMAL FIT MIAMI’s internship program develops tomorrow’s sports science professionals and accessorizes them with the real world experience one cannot find in a classroom.
As an exercise physiology major from Barry University, I was given the opportunity to intern here at Primal Fit Miami. For me this has been such a remarkable experience. I have gained so much valuable information here that was not present in a classroom setting. While some students prefer a clinical setting, I prefer a more hands on approach. Primal Fit Miami has given me the knowledge to help strengthen and conditions clients. Seeing that my career goal is to work toward becoming a physical therapist, I will be able to put the knowledge I have gained into use. I have learned how to program, regress and progress various exercises, mobility exercises, and stretches. On the business side I have gained knowledge in customer service, administrative work, and marketing. Although Physical Therapy is my long term goal, I will be able to use these skills today given the opportunity. Primal Fit Miami has been an excellent experience for me. I would recommend this facility to anybody that is interested in pursuing a future career that is more closely related to the physical fitness aspect of exercise physiology or similar majors.
